I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a diverse background in mental health and education. I hold a master’s degree in education with a specialty in Counseling from the University of St. Thomas and completed additional mental health coursework for my LPC licensure. I also hold a Bachelor of Science degree in human development and family studies from the University of Houston.

Prior to working in mental health, I dedicated 21 years to education; 7 years as a teacher to elementary school children and 14 years as a counselor to high school adolescents. Now as a mental health professional practicing since 2017, my focus is adolescents and adult mental health.

As a certified provider for the National Institute of Digital Health and Wellness, I support and guide adolescents to establish healthy emotional regulation, increase confidence, and to improve their relationships with people and technology.

As for adults, my primary focus is loss, grief, and reproductive trauma. I am a certified grief specialist and trauma informed professional who understands grief not only happens when we lose someone, but also when we struggle to let go of a dream, a way of being, or leave behind a place of heartfelt significance.

To help clients work through anxiety or depression symptoms, I use a range of approaches designed to foster a healthier perspective on life and self-perception. These include Mindfulness-Informed practices and Integral Breathwork; as well as Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Dialectical Behavioral therapy, Acceptance & Commitment therapy, Narrative therapy, and Motivational Interviewing techniques. I believe strongly in the power of supportive connection and therapeutic talk when faced with one or a string of difficult life events or experiences. As your counselor I will work with you to reflect on, accept, change, or to create a path toward self-love and growth while in a safe space.

I am a native Texan with Mexican roots. Soy tejana con raices Mexicana. My dominant, primary native language is English, and my second language is Spanish. My English is stronger than my Spanish, but I am confident accommodating Spanish speakers. Mi Ingles es mas fuerte que mi Espanol, pero me siento comoda atendiendo gente que habla Espanol.

In my spare time I enjoy reading, running, cooking family recipes, learning about nature, history and culture, and spending time with my family, plants, and pet!
